There is something about this guy that makes me want to protect him, even though he confessed that he lit someone on fire. I don't see it.

I probably want to stand up for him because he doesn't stand up for himself and Garrett likes to bully him and most of the others just ignore and avoid him. He's a sweet guy, he just needs to be stronger and less awkward around people.

I'm glad Ray-Ray is his friend. He needs one.

Here's the tough part. Dhani has a thing for me, and I'm not interested in him. At all. He's fine as just a friend. But it's hard to be "just friends" with someone who wants it to be more.

There's something about Dhani I can't figure out. He's always distracted, like he's listening to voices no one else can hear - but I don't think he's psychotic like some people do.

Really strange things happen when he's around. Like wild animals are drawn to him. And he knows what the weather is going to do before anyone else does. One time, we were up on Peregrine Mountain and he said a storm was coming when the sky was clear blue. People laughed at him. Then the whole sky changed in about a minute and a violent lightning storm broke over the mountain. We had to dive for cover.

Maybe he has some kind of connection to the natural world. I mean, how else could those things happen?
