Meet Bay.

Bay Trovert

This is one Super cool woman. I kind of like her even if she is a psychologist. I won’t let on, though.

The thing about her is that she really listens. And she doesn’t jump in and tell you how you should feel about something. She let’s you feel what you’re feeling without trying to talk you out of it or change you.

I also like that she stands up to Tanner. Not in an in-your-face kind of way, but just strong and confident and she doesn’t back down. I don’t get the sense that she’s in competition with him either, the way I’ve seen other women counselors get caught up in conflicts with men counselors because, I guess, they just have to win.

I hope this sketch captures the feeling she gives off—confidence, kindness, and real understanding.

I’ve noticed that Rocco reaches out to her, and they take walks along the camp road and talk.

I hope she helps him. He’s basically a good guy and I’ve heard Imani say his father is a total hard ass who pressures him and wants to make all his life choices. That would suck. She also says she heard he’s shady as hell and Rocco doesn’t really know that. So where did she get that intel from?

I’ll probably never open up to Bay, but in some ways I’d like to be like her. Mainly, she’s totally genuine. Not a fake.

If I ever need help from an adult—which I doubt I will—I’d probably go to Bay. I don’t think she’d screw me over like every other counselor. I think she’d respect me as a person who needs to make my own choices. Now there’s a concept.
