Meet Grady.

Grady

Grady and I and Dhani and Ray-Ray got off to a real rough start. We didn’t know that the canoe lying beside the lake was his, and we took it out. Very first morning here!—and we nearly got in big trouble for that.

Actually, he said after he calmed down that he was scared we might tip over and drown, because Lost Lake is 90 feet deep in some places.

Since that first day, I’ve gotten to know and really like Grady He’s just a cool, mountain guy, who loves fishing and playing cards, and he and his crew work really hard to keep the estate looking amazing.

Not long ago, he told me that he won’t tell any of his friends where super rare animals, like ermines, have their dens. He has this real respect for wildlife and he doesn’t want them sneaking onto the estate to hunt or trap an animal just for its pelt.

He kind of surprised me one day by saying he believes there are people who can speak with animals. He said he learned that from an old Abenake Indian man, who had the ability. Kind of ridiculous to even write this, but sometimes I wonder if Dhani has that gift.
